How long have you been collecting Keith?
Breweriana for 20 years, Guinness for 9 years.
What made you start collecting Guinness memorabilia?
I have been collecting many different things since I was young. I started collecting Guinness as a speciality when my beer collection got to big.
What is the popularity of Guinness where you live?
It is widely sold across all Australia. There are many Irish theme pubs in all major cities. Carlton and United Breweries brews Guinness under license in Australia. CUB has breweries in all states of Australia and the Guinness product is currently being produced at the CUB plants in Melbourne and at Yatala, in Brisbane, Queensland.
Do you have contact with other collectors of Guinntiques?
Yes there are collectors here in Australia And I correspond and swap with collectors in UK Ireland Europe and America.
Describe your local pub details and nightlife.
The local hotel sells Guinness on tap and in bottles. It has a nightclub with live bands three nights a week.
Are Guinness promotions run in these establishments?
Yes, there is one run about every two month's, with a special promotion every St Patricks Day.
Please describe your own collection.
It is a wide ranging collection of Guinness items from account slips to zipper pulls and from small stamps to 8 foot signs including Bulldog, Robert Porter, Guinness Book of Records etc.
