How long have you been collecting Don?
Just over 30 years.
What made you start collecting Guinness memorabilia?
When I was growing up in Australia, beer was an important and integral part of life.....consumption first - collecting followed!!
What is the popularity of Guinness where you live?
There is a huge interest due to the continual number of promotions taking place - not only Guinness themselves but in all the Irish theme bars.
Do you have contact with other collectors of Guinntiques?
Yes, there are about 10 other Guinness collectors that I swap with here in Australia.
Describe your local pub details and nightlife.
In my employment I fit out hotels/clubs with bulk beer systems. I have no local as such but can normally be found in someone's cellar, testing the quality of the brew!
Are Guinness promotions run in these establishments?
Yes, in abundance.
Please describe your own collection.
I have made up my own breweriana colour catalogues, including Guinness, as follows.....playing cards, golf balls, match books/boxes, tap tops, bar trays, cast iron openers, bottle can openers, biros, pens, statues, figurines, original posters/display cards and the list goes on...
